Back home, for a short time...
Well, I am back from Fargo for about a week. Marching band starts next week allready. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone. A couple of key events happened while I was in Fargo.
The show I played for, "Anything Goes", went very well. There were no major accidents or major mess-ups during the performances, which is always nice. I'm still waiting for my paycheck though, which is a little annoying since it's been almost a week and a half since closing night. I would like it soon!!!
Also last weekend I went to Minot, ND for the annual Jass Festival that our dear Christopher Hanson puts on. It was great to see everyone again. The big band was quite good, the jazz combo played some really funky stuff that was awsome, and the vocal jazz did some really cool things.
Saturday night was the banquet and dance put on by Patents Pending. I danced all night, and my calves are sore now because of it! I also was a little stupid in that I drank 6 glasses of wine and several shots of Pucker. Poor Scott Fisher had to kind of take care of me. I apologized in the morning. I learned something this weekend: Do not drink red wine all night long. You will feel like shit the next morning!
All in all, it was a good time had by all. I came home today, and I'll leave again for Fargo next Tuesday or Wednesday. Marching band is coming up next week already. Where did the time go? I'm hoping for a big trumpet section this year. I'm aiming for 20!!!
