A simple place to put my thoughts down...

Another year has started

Well, school has started again. A time for marching band, hectic schedules, drinking with friends and other various college stuffs.

But first, let me mention that my dear friends, Joan and Matt, got married earlier this month. I was a bridesmaid, which was an honor for me. Joan looked absolutly gorgeous in her dress. It had a corset back, which I thought was a very brave thing for her to do! The ceremony went well, with only one little "screw-up" with Joan getting wax on her and her dress while her and Matt were lighting the Unity candle. For the reception we had really good food, a great bottle of Spanish wine that Joan bought in Spain when Matt was there a few years ago. Patents Pending played the dance, and I played with them too. My pay for that was Chrisopher buying me a drink. I had to leave early the next day so I couldn't be present for the gift-opening. I am very happy for Matt and Joan, and I wish them abundant years of happiness and love.

Also, Tim Stine got married to his fiance, Ruth Meberg, last weekend. It was an outdoor wedding at Yonkers Farm, and the weather was gorgeous! Ruth looked so pretty in her dress! During the ceremony I almost cried when I noticed the open gap on the groomsmen side. The gap was for Colden, who died earlier in the year. The ceremony was short, and then it was off to the Amercan Legion for the dance. Again, Patents Pending played for that, and it went very well. Ryan Sather played in Tim's spot, and he is an amazing player. There was a lot of energy in the audience, which only feeds on our performance. After the dance, a group of us went to Monte's to close down the bar. I learned that night that now in North Dakota bars close at 2:00!

We have our first game this Thursday, and I think the marching band will be ready for it. We are doing Karn Evil 9 (the same one we did several years ago), Vehicle, and I think Bohemian Rhapsody. The rookies seem to be catching on very quickly in both the marching and the music. We will see how it all plays out this Thursday.

My grandma had open-heart surgery this past Thursday. My mom e-mailed me today and said it went well, and that she would tell me more as she gets notified. First hip surgery, then heart surgery. Grandma has not had a great summer. Or, as she put it, "most of my summer is shot".

Well, I should get some reading for class done. Haven't had any homework yet, just reading. The homework will come quickly though....
