My Rants and Celebrations
A simple place to put my thoughts down...
Monotony...
Allright, so instead of doing my homework, I am playing on the internet. I give Andrew a hard time when he does that, and look at me now doing the same thing I yell at him for. I am waiting for a TBS meeting to start in about half an hour. I need to kill some time!
Well, I can't say that I didn't do any homework, because I did write marching band drill for my methods class earlier this evening. I am also helping out on the student-written show for marching band. I'm helping write drill for one of the songs. It's good experience for me to learn how to use the drill-writing program ( www.pyware.com ) as I will probably need it in the future when I have a band of my own.
As you probably read from my last rant, this weekend is homecoming. The one thing I am looking forward to is the Get Lei'd Dance on Saturday night. As we do not have a house that we can have the traditional Get Lei'd Party, we had to modify it somewhat. The music is being provided by Patents Pending, and it should be a good time. There is a bar upstairs that the legal ones can get their fix, which is a good thing after the week we are going to have!
I found out from Chris Hanson's site ( www.danoandchris.com ) that he linked my site from his. So now I'm hoping that more than 2-3 people will read this!
Homecoming week... ugh!
This week is homecoming week for NDSU, and it is busy as hell. Last night there was a pep rally at Churchill Field that the band had to play for. Friday and Saturday is the kicker with luncheons, Blue Key show, Alumni stuff, a parade, a thing at the BSA, and probably a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head. Oh yeah, there's also a game Saturday afternoon. So much stuff to do, so little time...
Joan Beckman is coming up this weekend. Her and Matt asked me to be a bridesmaid for their wedding this August. So we are probably going to be talking about wedding details along with the usual catching up on the latest gossip that she misses now.
This past weekend the band went to Brookings, SD for the football game. Needless to say, the team lost because of a bad call in the fourth quarter and that our quarterback threw the ball right at SDSU at a very crucial time where we needed to get some points back! It was a sad time. The SDSU band is damn huge! They have roughly 390 members as compared to our 120. But I would have to say that our band marches better and has more enthusiasm than the SDSU band. I went over to their side to visit them, and they said that what we do in the stands is crazy, with dancing to the drum cadences and how we stand the whole game. They don't do that. But they did an allright job with their halftime show.
I just found out last night that my cousin is getting a divorce after a marriage of only 2 years. I just hope that her 3-year-old daughter isn't effected by this too much.
Tonight is the first time I think that I have spent more time on my choral methods homework ever. Me and Andrew were doing homework together, and he didn't like the fact that I didn't let him play on his computer rather than do his homework. He threw a fit like a 5-year-old, and it was cute... :) But it is time to watch my cartoons on Adult Swim (http://www.adultswim.com ), which is my outlet for busy days. Goodnight!
