Things are better

I went home last weekend for about 5 days to help out Mom. With her first chemo she ended up in the emergency room because she was so weak. She got out on Monday and Grandma was at the house with her until Friday when I came. I did many of the chores and house things that Mom normally does. I canned some pickles and jams and froze broccoli. Mom even got to go riding with me the last 2 nights. She was getting stronger each day, which made me happy.

We went to Sioux Falls on Tuesday to talk to her oncologist. They are going to do some changes to her chemo so she does not get that weak again. They are going to give half of the chemo one week and the other half the next week. The doctor said that should solve the problem. At least she won't have to go to the emergency room again.

The next time I'll be home will probably be next weekend. It will be the week of her second chemo and I want to make sure she is allright. I'll also be home for the county fair to help out my cousin Kelsey who shows my mom's horse. Then student teaching will start and I don't know when I will be home next....

Other that that things are going ok. Me and Aaron are going to Mandan this weekend to pick up a dresser from his mom's house. Yay for no more clothes on the floor!!!

4th of July fun!

This past weekend I went back home to Worthington to be with the family for the 4th of July. As always it was great to be with the whole family. I also got to see the newest addition to the family. My cousin Shawn and his wife Mandy had a baby about 2 months ago. Her name is Abigal, and she looks just like Shawn. I got to hold her and feed her and I couldn't get over how small she was!

My cousin Billy brought his 4-wheeler out and was riding that thing around like a crazy man, but that's normal for him. But I did go on a ride with him, and I swear he was going at least 60 mph on the gravel road! But it was fun! Even Grandma went for a short ride with him, which surprised us all.

Aaron came home with me to meet the family, and I think he did very well. My uncles did the usual hastling, but Aaron took it in stride, and I think the family likes him, which makes me happy...

Mom had her first chemotherapy treatment on Wednesday. In her e-mail she told me it all went well and that she was just a bit tired. I'm just hoping this chemo will not totally wipe her out physically. I can't help but worry about her right now....

Tomorrow Patents Pending has a wedding to play. We are on the verge of starting some great things with new songs, and new look, and a new energy. I am looking forward to the future of this band. I don't care so much about the money. I just love to play! It is the greatest feeling in the world....
