Christmas time again

I got home yesterday afternoon to Worthington, MN after spending the weekend with the rest of the Matthies clan. For the first time in a very long time all of the cousins were together for family Christmas. I got a neat candle set from my cousin Angela, along with a gift certificate to JCPenny's, which is always handy to have. Got some money's from Grandma and Aunt Viv and Uncle Bob. All in all, it was a good time.

My friend Kristian is coming to visit tomorrow for a day or two. I haven't seen him for over a year. He's been doing training in the Army for the past year. He'll be coming tomorrow afternoon, and I can't wait to see him!

I don't have to work till after Christmas. So I guess I'll be catching up on my sleep, going to the gym a lot (I hope for there to be less of me when I get back to school!), and help Mom and Dad around the house. Christmas Day we are having family at our place, which I just found out a few days ago when Mom told me. I have to check my schedule at work to see when I have to work because I have to tell Andrew what days I have off. That way there may be some time for us to see each other. Otherwise it is going to be a long three weeks.

Almost Done

Well, it is the last week of normal classes, and next week is finals week. I am almost done with the semester, and I need it. Over the last month, I haven't been sleeping well, eating well, or had much time just to relax, even for a day. I still have to write an 8-page paper for monday, get a notebook together, prepare for juries, and several other things before I leave next weekend.

Next weekened is the Matthies family Christmas. We are having it at my Aunt Pam's house in Watertown, SD. I'll be seeing a couple cousins I haven't seen in about a year and a half. It's always nice to see the family all together.

I'm supposed to be at pep band tonight, but I had a late rehearsal, and I just wanted to sit at home, sip some hot chocolate, and read. I am just worn from this week of many homework assignments and tests. I'm expecting a call from Andrew within the next hour with him asking me why I'm not at the BSA playing at the basketball game....

It finally snowed this week! It's made driving a little rough, but it is finally winter and everything is white!

I had two concerts earlier this week. The Jazz concert on Monday went well I thought. Solos played by Ed, Jesse, Brian, Scott, Brandon, Christopher, and Al were all great. The Wind Ensemble concert on Tuesday went allright. Dr. Mueller played the Kennan Trumpet Sonata, and he always puts forth a wonderful performance. The band itself played decently, although we do have issues with tuning and some technical things that, if addressed, could have been fixed early on. Oh well, it went allright. There is a Choir/Brass Ensemble and Brass Quintet concert on Sunday, and that was the rehearsal that went late tonight.

Well, I can't think of anything else to say now. I hope everyone does well on their finals coming up!
